Jacqui has more than 30 years of experience as a newspaper reporter and editor. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in feature writing for a 1988 series on AIDS in the heartland, and recently served as associate managing editor at the Seattle Times. She now holds the Knight Chair in Editing at the University of Missouri's journalism school, and is a visiting faculty member at the Poynter Institute.
Steve is the Knight Chair in Journalism at Arizona State University. Previously, he spent 19 years as a reporter and editor at the Miami Herald. He has won numerous national journalism awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for his investigative reporting on shoddy building construction in the wake of Hurricane Andrew.
Geoff is the editor of the Daily News and CEO of PublicMedia, Inc. Prior to founding the Daily News, he was an investigative reporter at the Chicago Tribune. Before that, he served in similar roles at the Miami Herald and St. Petersburg Times. He has 16 years of journalism experience, has won numerous national awards for his work. While at the Miami Herald, he spearheaded the newspaper's effort to review, count and analyze discarded ballots from the 2000 presidential election
Jon is vice president of media development and communications for the food & beverage and foodservice units of Sara Lee Corp. Before joining Sara Lee, he spent four years as vice president for business development and global communications at Bally Total Fitness Holding Corp. He previously held corporate communications positions at OurHouse Inc., and Pepsi-Cola Co.
Derek is a minister and social worker with ten years of experience working with community organizations ranging from disability rights groups and low income tenant coalitions to churches and social service agencies. Derek served as co-director of the Housing Advocacy Coalition in Colorado Springs for 3 years. He later attended seminary and served as associate pastor of a small church for two years. He is currently building an ecumenical healing and recovery ministry in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ben is a partner at JTTR Law Group LLC in Chicago, where he concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, corporate finance, tax law and commercial finance. Ben serves as a business attorney to entrepreneurial companies in such diverse activities as software development, broadcast media, construction, retailing, distribution, manufacturing, banking, consulting and other professional service organizations. Ben obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting at the University of Texas at Austin and earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
