Jewelry valued at $15,000 was stolen from a North Side home Monday.

The burglary took place in the 4300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue between 2:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., according to police reports.

The thief forced a back door open to gain entry to the home and carried out the jewelry in the homeowners' pillowcases, police said.
